Old Man of Coniston, Dow Crag, Coniston Water, an uninterupted view

and marvel at the panoramic views. Also experince ol Bridleways
and tracsk that lead over to the the local village of Torver. Ride
over to Beacon tarn and rest for a few moments. Wade into the waters
if you wish, then, if you feel brave enough, climb Beacon itslef
to gaze the length of Coniston Water. Truly the Ride of Your Life......

At Crooked Birch we offer you the chance to Hire
a Horse for the duration of your stay to Ride with our groups or
to explore on your own. Your friend is specially selected to ensure
that you can put your trust in him. We, unfortunately have to be
sure that he can put his trust in you, and so, you will be asked
to take part ina short assessment when you arrive to ensure that
the both of you get on well together and will look after each other
the way freinds should. The assessment is informal but neccessary
to ensure both our Horses and your own saftey.
If you would like to Hire a Horse for your time
with us then it would help us greatly if you would include some
details of your experience with Horses when booking.

At Crooked Birch we would like nothing more than
to accommodate you and your Horse so that you can both experience
Riding here in Cumbria. Although we offer a friend to Hire for your
stay nothing can beat sharing the views with your old friend of
many years. If this is a practicle option for you then we recommend
that you try and get your Horse as fit as possible because of the
steep climbing involved, particularly if your Horse is not used
to this. We also ask you to conisder if your Horse is good
in company and confident in new surroundings.
If this is the case then we would love to have you
both here to stay. We offer a number of Livery options to make your
stay as hassle free as possible. Our full Livery options include
Feed, Haylage, Bedding and Turning out but does not include Grooming
or tacking up. With your Horse here to stay you can advantage of
all the rides that Cumbria has to offer.
Whilst we do everything in our power
to ensure the safety of our Guests and Horses, Horse Riding is a
very high risk sport and Horses can be unpredictable. This must
be accepted by our clients. We will ask you to confirm this before
you ride. Whilst your safety is our prime concern it cannot be garunteed.
Travel insurance for very high risk sports such as Horse Riding
is recommended and riders are asked to be vigilant at all times.
